London form with a lion spout and snake handle commemorating the Duke
of Wellington and his victories in India, Portugal and Spain,
specifying Vittoria, 21st June 1813, within ovals bordered by laurel
leaves and palms.
L: 10.2", 26 cm
Beneath the bust of the Duke is the inscription Viresque acquirit eundo, a quote from Virgil's Aeneid which can be translated as She gathers strength as she goes, referring to Fame.
Condition: filled chip to rim, otherwise very good
